My name is Dr. Akiko Taira MD PhD, I have been working as a diabetologist in clinical practice and also in basic science research overseas, I have now decided to open my own practice here in Kaihin Makuhari, where I am very familiar with. My four years of research in the United States have given me a deeper understanding of the pathology of many ifestyle-related diseases, and I realize in my daily practice that the perspective I gained from my research is extremely important in advancing treatment with my patients.
Lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, as their names suggest, their onset and development are losely related to the daily lifestyle and habits of each patient. In order for patients with these diseases to live a long and fulfilling life without having complications from the diseases, it is at most important to understand not only the pathophysiology of each disease, but also to understand the patient from various perspectives in order to construct a best treatment plan for each of the patients.
Based on this belief, which has been cultivated at our main Clinic (Taira・Clinic) in Yachiyo City for more than a quarter of a century, we have been practicing the best treatment which we could provide with our patients on a daily basis, working closely with diabetes specialists and doctors with high expertise in various fields, together with nurses, dieticians, exercise therapists and clinical laboratory technicians who are qualified as medical care advisors.
In addition, since continuity of hospital visits is very important, we are working to have all our patients to understand more deeply toward their diseases, so they would know the importance of their treatment and to be able to continue their treatment with us.
